De Barnes is offering these services because of personal experiences having navigated the process successfully to gain admissions abroad. We are also responding to the extensive void of lack of clarity and information regarding the search for Colleges/Universities and scholarship opportunities abroad.
Our mission is to be your premier, one stop channel for matching individuals to Colleges/Universities in North America, Asia and Europe. We aspire to promote and offer opportunities to individuals to Aim Higher and Reach Further given that foreign education provides unique added-value and great opportunities for your career around the world.

How will De Barnes communicate with me?

Once registered, subscribers will be updated on the progress of their application through their personalized web page account. Subscribers will receive alerts advising of updates.

Do I have to sign up for all the service packages?

No, any package can be selected based on the subscriber’s individual needs.

At what stage do I have to make payment to De Barnes for their services?

Payment is required at sign up prior to any services being rendered.

How can I make payment?

Payment for any of the services offered by De Barnes can be made by credit card, debit card, bank transfer via PayPal or Moneris, certified cheque, or direct deposit into our account.

Are the charges/fees refundable?

Charges/fees are refundable as long as services have not been rendered. Under certain circumstances De Barnes may choose to refund charges/fees based on subscriber’s peculiar issue

When can I apply for admission? When is the deadline to apply?

The deadlines for admissions/scholarships are College and University specific and will be provided once a subscriber is matched to a school.

What are the admission application fees for the Colleges/Universities I would like to attend abroad?

The admission application fees are dependant on the selected College/University.

What is the deadline date for transcripts and other required documents?

De Barnes will advise of when transcripts and other required documents are required to be submitted in accordance with the Colleges’/Universities’ deadline.

How long will it take for me to gain admission to a College/University abroad?

Most Colleges and Universities have one admission intake per year. There is plenty of planning that goes into selecting the right College/University and ensuring that all your required documentation is submitted. A De Barnes representative will navigate you through this process from initiation to completion.

Are there any hidden fees apart from the De Barnes’ service packages charges?

There are no hidden fees apart from our service charges. Subscribers will bear the cost associated with their standardized admission test(s) (e.g.: SAT, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, etc.) and College/University admission application fees. These are paid directly to the specific exam board or institution, and are not funds that come to De Barnes.

Do all Colleges/Universities require standardized tests in order to gain admission?

No, a limited number of schools do not require standardized test scores prior to being offered admission/scholarship.

What are the typical documentation required by Colleges/Universities for admission/scholarship opportunities?

Generally, you will be required to provide some personal information, academic transcript(s), letters of reference, standardized test results, CV/resume, a statement or a narrative of academic purpose and completion of an application form.

What are the benefits for using De Barnes and how will De Barnes represent me?

De Barnes will walk you through the entire application process based on the package(s) selected. We remove the stress, time effort, and associated pitfalls that many applicants go through to: search for a suitable College/University and/or scholarship abroad; complete test registration and exam(s); manage payments and huge bank charges; and navigate through the application process.
Our representation may include frequent communication with the selected College/University and providing updates to subscriber. All of these, one-stop shop opportunity, are provided to you as we stand by your side to succeed.

What if I’m still in the process of completing my degree or I have completed school many years ago?

De Barnes welcomes everyone, from High School students in their final year, University graduates, and workers, so long as they have interest in furthering their education abroad. Our representatives will provide customized service(s) required by each individual.

Does De Barnes provide visa application advice?

De Barnes can answer questions relating to visa application on a case by case basis.
